As a supplier of innovative equipment it's really great when you find a professional with out of the box thinking. For so many years spinally injured people have been given a wheelchair, drugs to prevent spasm and left to 'just get on with it. Natalie Woodman at Neurolink has a really distinctive approach with spinally injured clients that really gets the most out of a client’s potential. Even though the paralysed limbs have generally no voluntary control Natalie doesn't forget that the whole of the body is important so has a range of regular Physio combined with complementary therapies and innovative FES plans that provide more than the average Neuro practice. When using the RT-600 I feel a lot more weight on my legs for longer periods of time. I am using my legs more actively in a walking movement especially my weaker right leg. I am also able to shift my body weight from left to right and vice versa whilst stepping, and feel safe and secure doing so. Using the RT-600 helps to strengthen not only my legs but also my back, arm and stomach muscles more.
The harness which is used helps me to stand for longer periods which I would be able to do without it.
After using the RT-600 I feel more activity in my legs and it’s much easier to step with both my legs.

I have had MS for nearly 15 years and since starting treatment with Natalie 2 years ago I have noticed the improvement in my posture, walking, flexibility, strength and also in my state of mind.  I no longer feel that my MS is like a black cloud constantly hovering over me and I feel now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Natalie and her team are always finding solutions to any obstacles that I come across. I was having physiotherapy but have now moved on to a combination of Pilates and the FES machine which are both helping to strengthen my weak muscles.  It is always a pleasure to attend my appointments as the team are so welcoming and the new premises has all the latest equipment.  Anonymous

"The team at Neurolink are really helping me address the wheelchair – related health issues that I have developed over the 18 years since my SCI. Having lived in various places around the UK and had first class experience of a number of the UK spinal injury units(which understandably prioritise their resources towards dealing with newly injured patients) I can definitely say there is no other facility – NHS or Private – in the UK that does what Natalie and her team do. I can’t recommend them highly enough and I am so pleased I found them!

My personal fitness sessions at Neurolink are helping relieve shoulder pain that I have had for years. I used to wake up every night and my arms had ‘gone to sleep’, regardless of what position I was sleeping in. This has gradually reduced since starting Personal Training and it now only happens occasionally. I am sure this is because my posture feels better (my shoulders feel less ‘rounded’). With the FES sessions I am finally having a cardio workout, which is so difficult to achieve post SCI. I feel actively out of breath! My legs are building up muscle too and they look much better, especially when I wear dresses or my favourite skinny jeans." Sarah, SCI client

“My son was injured in a road accident. He suffered severe head injuries that affected his co-ordination, balance and posture. Over the last eighteen month my son has been under the care and supervision of Natalie Woodman. He has come on leaps and bounds, progressing from a wheelchair to now being able to walk unaided. I cannot thank and praise Natalie’s work with him enough; she has got him to where he is now. We are so thankful for everything Natalie has done and so grateful that our paths have crossed”. “Natalie has helped me gain greater independence in my daily living. All my transfers - in and out of the chair, bed, bath and car - have improved significantly. Our outdoor mobility sessions have meant I am better able to deal with London's pavements. By helping me with stretches and passive movement, she is very careful to make sure my range of movement and my joints do not deteriorate further. She has put together a programme of exercises for me to continue to develop my upper body strength. Aside from her technical expertise she is a very encouraging, positive person to work with and I always look forward to our sessions.” Anonymous

“I am a male of 35 who suffered a brain injury in 2002 due to a road accident. This affected my balance, stride and weakness in my left side. Since July 2008 I have been coming to see Natalie at the Neurolink Physiotherapy clinic in Putney. The improvements have been nothing short of spectacular. Family, friends and professionals have all commented on what a difference there is in my overall physique. I used to play the Bhangra drums professionally before my accident which required standing for long periods of time with the drum hanging at the waist. I was convinced I would never be able to play again. I am now able to play standing up for short periods of time. With my strength increasing over time with the work Natalie has been doing with me. I just want to say what a godsend she’s been! Her willingness to listen, offer advice and for her patience in listening has helped.” Anonymous

“Natalie has helped me to reduce the pain and discomfort I get in the wheelchair by adjusting and correcting my sitting position. She has advised me on equipment purchase and I now use my standing machine and passive cycle on a regular basis and I can feel the benefits. The balance practice that I have done with Natalie has enabled me to sit more upright and comfortably, and to feel more confident going about my everyday tasks.” Anonymous

Her recommendations following her thorough assessment of our client’s complex postural and wheelchair needs, led to the development of specialised and individualised equipment to optimally support him.  These changes have made a visible difference to his body alignment and comfort and have supported him to allow more energy to focus on other aspects of his rehabilitation.” Steph de Stadler, Brain Injury Clinical Case Manager
